William C. Endicott
used the room from 1893 until his death in 1900. Endicott sat
on the bench of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial court and
was President Cleveland’s Secretary of War. The library was
altered after William’s death but continued to store some of
the 10,000 books that once filled the house.
