Cultivating plants under glass is a tradition which began here in the late 1870s with a small greenhouse built by Joseph A. Danforth the gardener. In 1930 the old greenhouse was taken down and Lord & Burnham Co. built two new greenhouses. Today the greenhouses which are staffed by volunteers provide us with plants for our gardens and Plant Sale.
