The dining room,
once the frequent site of lavish entertaining including
dinners for Presidents Taft and Cleveland, contains French
wallpaper printed from 1814 wood blocks and installed in 1893.
The panels depict the Love story of Cupid and Psyche.
The room’s elegantly carved gray marble mantlepiece was
removed from “Grandmother Peabody’s” bedroom in Salem.
