Preserving history has always been a passion of mine. I have numerous antiques from generations past, most handed down to me with a story about the person it belonged to or the item itself. I treasure these and raised my own children with them hearing the tales. The nostalgia and the bond they automatically bring to the relationship in a room is unmatched .. When I toured Glen Magna Farms I was immediately taken with it's beauty and grace. When I

arrived at the last room on the tour, a portrait was hanging that I was so taken with; I felt pulled to observe this gentleman's face closer. A lovely dedication was placed below the painting. I read the name, Stephen Page

Weston. I was stunned. My Great Grandmother was a Page and, of course, my family name being Weston, I was intrigued. To have discovered a part of my own family history associated with Glen Magna Farms was definitely

inspiration enough to participate in the grand transformation!

Here's to history, storytelling and the joy of contemplating our own sense of self in our surroundings; which are exactly why I chose the sewing room or what I now refer to as the Contemplation Room. Enjoy!

SEWING ROOM

This small room was referred to as the "Sewing Room" in the 1893 plans. In the 1936 inventory, it is referred to as

"Dressing Room #1". It was most likely this room, with its adjacent bathroom, was used by the family as a dressing

room. Even so, the room is notable for its fireplace with beautiful wooden mantelpiece as well as the adjoining

curved bath with large round exterior window.
